By my own admission I know that I can be an ‘awkward’ customer. I’m particular and I like to make sure that what I want is what I get! However throughout the eighteen months that I have been working with Template I have found that we have had a harmonious relationship because they’re  down to earth, easy to work with and they haven’t once promised something that they haven’t delivered on.

The initial work that Template did for me was to design and produce some sales literature for our company’s range of connectors, that are marketed to a broad range of industries including aerospace, transportation, computing and control systems. Our product range is not only large it is specific to any number of applications, so being able to decipher how a particular connector might suit a customer’s needs is a key factor for us.

With a relatively clear idea of what I wanted I was able to sit down with Clive Cowx and Mickie Wicks and they conceptualised my preliminary plans into cohesive proposals. From the outset simplicity of use was of prime importance and by utilising a colour coding system for each catalogue for the various product sectors the literature immediately became extremely user friendly.

We also split the material into two distinct areas and produced one set of catalogues that was descriptive and informative whilst the other set was technical, providing definitive data such as dimensions, configuration and potential application. The end result was a collection of brochures that were clearly laid out with the information flowing coherently between them.

I am currently working with Template on a full blown marketing campaign that will not only act as a sales tool but will also raise brand awareness of individual components and Cinch the company. They will be looking after everything from devising the strategy to facilitating the ongoing promotion as it develops.

A more long term project is to take our entire product range online so that industrial designers can download our connectors in 3D form to use directly in their CAD drawings. This way our products can be utilised into assemblies and products at design level making them an indispensible part of that product when it goes into manufacture.

These are great projects that I’m sure will do much for Cinch’s international sales and profile and I’m very pleased that Template will be helping me navigate through these exciting times.
